Dawn of Spring Means Time for Allergy Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Spring is upon us and we are soon due for some warmer weather.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, just released its Spring outlook.

Above average temperatures are forecast for most of the country, including here in the Northeast.

While most of us welcome warmer days and blooming flowers, allergy sufferers aren’t quite as happy. Noses start running and eyes get itchy when the pollen gets flowing.

Dr. Robert McGovern, an allergist and immunologist, spoke to ABC40′s Chris Pisano to talk about the upcoming allergy season, how to decide if it’s allergies or a cold, and when you should go see a doctor.
