Chicopee Police Arrest Suspected Gas Station Robber
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WGGB) — Chicopee police have arrested a woman suspected in several recent robberies.
Saturday night, investigators released surveillance video of a female suspected in robbing a Grove Street Shell station on Thursday, March 21.
That same person, police believe, robbed the Pride Station on Burnett Road on Wednesday.
Around 12:45 Sunday morning, Chicopee Police received a call from West Springfield Police asking them to be on the lookout for a white female driving a red Ford Escort who had just attempted a robbery of a convenience store in West Springfield.
A short time later, Officer Eric Laflamme saw the vehicle on Front Street in Chicopee and initiated a “high risk” traffic stop, where he placed 25-year-old Leigha Neiford under arrest.
Neiford is facing charges of armed robbery, unarmed robbery, and possession of heroin.
Bail has been set at $50,000. Additional charges are pending in both Springfield and West Springfield.
