Mistrial Declared in Motor Vehicle Homicide Case

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A mistrial has been declared in the case of a Southwick man accused of hitting and killing a man in 2011.

37-year-old Daniel Leary is accused of hitting and killing 29-year-old David Laduzenski of Somerville while he walking through the front yard of a friend’s West Springfield house on March 25, 2011. He was facing charges of motor vehicle homicide.

Monday afternoon, Hampden County Superior Court Judge Tina Page declared a mistrial in the case.

It’s not yet known if the Commonwealth plans on retrying the case.
