WARREN, Mass. (WGGB) – A major headache for motorists traveling eastbound on the Mass. Pike.
Early Tuesday morning, two tractor trailers were involved in an accident in Warren.
The collision forced one tractor trailer to become pinned against a rock ledge, which caused the gas tank to rupture and leak fuel.
The crash also caused the Pike to be reduced down to one travel lane, creating a traffic back-up for several miles.
While trying to clear the scene, State Police say one of the trucks broke apart, complicating the cleanup efforts further.
State Police report the right lane and break down lane will remain closed until at least 5a.m. Wednesday as crews continue the cleanup process.
