Korean Massage Permit Denied In East Longmeadow

KoreanMassageEAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) — The Korean Massage in East Longmeadow was denied an operating license tonight.

The parlor must shut down following the unanimous vote.

Board members cited license violations and past police investigations surrounding prostitution in the Korean Massage as reasons for their decision.

They also found evidence on erotic websites that illegal activity was ongoing in the parlor, as recently as this month.

Dozens of other massage therapists were granted the special license after paying a special fee.

It was the first year East Longmeadow required the special process for therapists, who say not having Korean Massage in town anymore legitimizes their operations.

“I’m still kind of upset, you know, at the whole issue but I mean it’s a relief that we don’t have to go through this anymore. And it’s done and over with.  Everybody else got approved, except the Korean Massage place. They are shut down now so we don’t have to worry about them,” says local massage therapist, Ari Boyajian.

An attorney for the Korean Massage declined comment and wouldn’t say if he plans to appeal the board’s decision.
