Spring Flowers Here in Time for Easter

spring earlySPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB)- Flowers are a popular gift on Easter Sunday. They represent the renewal of life and revival of greenery and color for the spring season.

Yet the winter chill remains and the ground is still very cold.  That makes growing this year a bit more difficult. “Spring flowers are forced in the greenhouse just for the Eastern season, it’s not easy to them ready in just the right time, especially when Easter is early,” says Judith Bordenuk, of 16 Acres Garden Center.

However, 16 Acres Garden Center in Springfield has overcome the weather.  Inside their greenhouse colors are bursting and senses are overwhelming with spring.

“It’s very uplifting for many of our customers,” adds Bordenuk.

“I live across the street and I walk every day so I stop in here to look at everything,” says Springfield resident, Beverly Rourke.

Some of these plants have been delivered and some are grown right in the greenhouse at 16 Acres. The most popular for the season, the Easter Lily. Also popular are hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils.
