One Victim in the Hospital Following Westfield Shooting

wfield shootingWESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A shooting in Westfield last night leaves a man wounded and police still searching for the shooter.

According to Westfield Police Officer John Blascak, the department received the call at 9:20 p.m. Friday for a shooting on Chapel Street.

When police arrived at the scene they found the victim… a man… and he was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Authorities are not releasing any information on the victim’s condition at this time.

Police say they are looking for a male suspect, described as a Hispanic man wearing all dark clothing and standing about 5’11″.

Officer Blascak reports they are being assisted in this investigation by the State Police, Southwick Police Department and K-9 units from both.
