Memorial Ave Closed to Tall Trucks After Accident

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — An overnight motor-vehicle accident could cause some traffic tie-ups this morning in West Springfield.

A vehicle took down a telephone pole at the corner of Memorial Avenue and Norman Street, causing power lines to hang too low.

West Springfield Police told ABC40 that tall trucks, like tractor-trailers, are currently not allowed down that section of Memorial.

There is currently no estimate as to when tall trucks will be allowed through. Power crews were seen overnight making repairs.

No information about the initial accident is being released.
