AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB)– Four Hollywood filmmakers and UMass alumni were back on campus today. They came to share their experiences with current students.

The men work for Lucasfilm and spent the day with animation students explaining the real world application of art in the film industry.

Associate Professor Patricia Galvis Assum said the experience is a treat for more than just the students.

“It’s interesting because you can tell students things and it doesn’t  always click it doesn’t always make sense. But to hear somebody who is doing it and doing it in a way that’s kind of world renound,” said Assum.

And students like Caitlin Hoyt found the session, inspirational.

“It’s really awesome to see people really in the industry and it really helps me be inspired that I can do the same,” explained Hoyt.

The four alumni have worked on filmed like Van Heilsing, The Chronicles of Narnia, Iron Man and Star Wars.
