HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Rank-and-file legislators are set to learn more about bipartisan legislation addressing the Newtown elementary school massacre that’s being negotiated by legislative leadership.

Democratic and Republican caucus meetings were scheduled for Monday at the state Capitol.

Those meetings could help determine whether the full General Assembly will vote later in the week on a package of initiatives addressing gun violence, school security and mental health. The leaders have yet to announce they’ve reached a final agreement on a bill.

On Thursday, leaders said the release of search warrants in the Dec. 14 shooting reinforced the need for some of the proposals they’ve been considering.

The warrants showed the shooter had a cache of weapons including guns, more than a thousand rounds of ammunition, a bayonet and several swords at his home.
