Four Men Under Arrest for Breaking into Holyoke Gas Station
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) – Four men are under arrest after allegedly breaking into a Holyoke gas station Easter Sunday.
Holyoke Police Lt. Matt Moriarty says that around 10:15 Sunday night, police responded to the Citgo station on Main Street after someone called reporting seeing four people, dressed in dark clothing, trying to break into the gas station.
When an officer arrived, Moriarty says the four suspects were seen running to the back of the gas station after allegedly throwing something into the air.
Investigators later determined that that object was a golf club.
The officer on-scene was able to arrest one man, identified as 27-year-old Gerald Lopez at the gas station.
Other officers on-the-lookout for the other three suspects, identified by police as 26-year-old Alfonso Rivera, 25-year-old Jose Matos, and 24-year-old Luis Coriano, were able to apprehend them a short time
All four men are facing charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property over $250, and possession of burglarious instruments.
