(CNN) — Today is World Autism Awareness day.

Every year on April 2, Autism organizations around the world observe the day with awareness programs and fundraisers.

The group Autism Speaks says this developmental disability affects one in every 88 children.

It also has no medical detection or cure.

The Empire State Building is also celebrating by lighting its tower blue in honor of the group Autism Speaks.
