West Springfield Man Arrested in Westfield Shooting

wfield shootingWESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police have arrested a West Springfield man in connection with a Friday night shooting that left a man wounded in Westfield.

22-year-old Raymond Michael Boissonault is being charged with assault and battery with dangerous weapon, attempted murder, discarding a firearm within 500 ft of dwelling, and various other charges.

According to Westfield Police Officer John Blascak, the department received the call at 9:20 p.m. Friday for a shooting on Chapel Street.

When police arrived at the scene they found a male victim. He was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Authorities are not releasing any information on the victim’s condition at this time.

Westfield Police received assistance in their investigation from State Police and the Southwick Police Department.
