Police: Gun Fired When Victim Was Pistol Whipped

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield Police are investigating an attack in the South End section of the city.

Police told ABC40 that two masked men followed the male victim into a building on Marble Street and began hitting him.

According to police when one of the suspects hit the victim with a gun, it fired.

No one was hit by a bullet, according to officers, and the two suspects ran from the scene.

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center and is expected to be okay.

    If you are gonna pistol whip somebody, for gosh sakes, make sure the safety is on. Don’t take the chance of hurting anybody.
