Two Accused of Robbing Lowell Woman in Wheelchair
LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Police in Lowell say two teenagers have been charged with robbing a woman in a wheelchair on a city street
Two suspects, one 16, another 18, were arrested Tuesday for the robbery last week that Capt. Kelly Richardson called “disturbing to say the least.”
Police say the 58-year-old victim was robbed in the middle of the day March 27. One suspect acted as a lookout while the other ran up behind her and grabbed her purse. They fled on foot.
The Sun reports that a photograph led to the arrest of the younger suspect, whose name was not released because of his age.
Eighteen-year-old Elvin Alvarez was arrested at his home.
Both are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of unarmed robbery.
