Westfield Firefighters Put Out Second House Fire

Westfield Fire Second One

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Emergency crews have managed to put out a house fire on Pleasant Street in Westfield despite the windy conditions tonight.

The call came into authorities just before 7:30 p.m. today.

The Westfield Police Department told us that officers set up a perimeter around the home located at 45 Pleasant Street while crews worked.

Firefighters battled the flames for about 2 hours before they were able to get it under control.  The windy weather tonight posed problems because it helped fuel the flames.  Thousands of gallons of water were poured into the house as a result.

No one was injured in this fire though.

Earlier tonight the Westfield Fire Department put out another fire at a home on Notre Dame Street.

The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
