Child Safety Program Provides Parents with Peace of Mind

Child IDAMHERST, Mass. (wggb)– Connecticut Valley Oral Surgery hosted a child safety event in Amherst today.

Today’s free program provided parents with the latest technology to safeguard their children. The technology is a $1.2 billion identification database that was developed by the FBI called Next Generation Identification or NGI. It’s purpose is to hold and process not only fingerprints but palm prints as well. Over 40% of prints left at the scene of a crime are actually palm prints. But there are few places where parents can go to get their child’s certified biometric palm prints.

Today not only were parents able to get those palm prints, they also received a full color photo of their child and a child safety journal which provides law enforcement with vital information about that child should they go missing. To keep the event secure each parent received a safety cd with all of this information, which is the only record kept, to take home.

Connecticut Valley Oral Surgery will be holding this event again tomorrow for interested parents. The event will be held at 285 High Street in Greenfield from noon to 4 pm.
