Police Looking for Car Involved in Springfield Hit & Run

Car-Accident4SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Springfield man is still in the hospital after being hit by a car Saturday morning.

The hospitalized victim has been identified as 19-year-old Jonthony Maldonado of Springfield.

Police say he was struck by a recent-model Buick Verano on Sumner Avenue just after 4 a.m. Saturday.

The victim remains in critical condition at Baystate Medical Center.

Investigators shut down Sumner Ave to inspect the scene, but it has since re-opened.

Springfield police are asking you to be on the lookout for that Buick, which may have front end damage and missing parts from the front grill.  The hood and windshield will also be damaged.
