As part of Team 40, Chris Pisano, Mike Leslie, and Brendan Monahan ran to help raise money for the Amherst Survival CenteR… with the UMass Dining Services Donating $500 to the center in ABC40′s name.
“It’s amazing to see all these people out here in the cold ready to run, supporting the center,” said Jan Eidelson, Board President of Amherst Survival Center.
“And what we are is we provide clothing, health care, hot meals, and a food pantry for the entire area.”
This morning’s Dash & Dine 5k promotes health and fitness at the University. Costumes were encouraged and a complimentary - and hot - meal was also served after the race.
Prizes of $100 American Express Gift Cards were awarded to the first-place male and female runners as well as the top male and female finishers in the costume contest.
