Just after 6 a.m. Sunday, the facility went into lock down and began an emergency count when correctional officers noticed an inmate, 49-year-old Lori Beyus of Torrington, Conn., was missing during breakfast in the facility’s dining hall.
Beyus entered the system on November 2nd as a temporary surrender on a robbery charge and is currently serving a 51-month sentence.
Almost twelve hours later, around 5:40 p.m. Sunday, investigators received information that Beyus was seen along I-95.
Search teams comprised of Conn. State Police and Correctional Officers went out and were able to take Beyus back into custody around 6:15 p.m.
Beyus has been since returned to the York Correctional Institution.
