Lenox Fire Displaces Dozens of People

Fire320LENOX, Mass. (WGGB) — Nearly 50 people were been displaced by a fire in Lenox Thursday night that occurred at an apartment complex housing elderly individuals.

The Lenox Police Department and American Red Cross confirm that 48 people have been displaced by the ire.

The fire occurred at 6 Main Street around 8:00 p.m.

The American Red Cross Berkshire County Chapter provided financial assistance to 12 people so they could find shelter overnight. The Red Cross also provided food for many of the residents.

The Lenox Town Hall Service Center was open Friday morning to provide continued services to those displaced by the fire, according to the Red Cross.

No information was immediately available on whether or not anyone was injured in this incident.
