They honored their founders, Sisters of St. Joseph Maureen Broughan and Jane Morrissey, who will be taking a step back from the program.
“They are not retiring, but they are taking a step back a little bit from their duties,” said Judith Ortiz, president of the organization’s board of directors. ”They will still be available to us for help, thank heavens. We are going forward with their vision in front of us.”
Homework House has helped an estimated one thousand at-risk students since the program began in 2006.
