Ruby Tuesday Patrons and Staff Subdue Man with Knife

Ruby Tuesday

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — A man with a knife was subdued by patrons and staff at the Ruby Tuesday restaurant at the Holyoke Mall tonight.

That’s according to Lt. Jim Albert with the Holyoke Police Department who spoke with our crew on scene.

Emergency personnel were notified of the incident at about 9:40 p.m. this evening.

Lt. Albert told us that a man in the restaurant became angry and pulled out a knife threatening people.   A glass was broken.

That’s when several employees and customers got control of the situation subduing the man. ¬†Security then arrived and took over until the Holyoke Police Department came and arrested the man.

There were minor injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital though according to police.

No word yet on the identity of this individual.

ABC40 will have an update to this story as soon as more details emerge.
