Springfield Police Investigate Bomb Threat at Nadim’s Downtown
Springfield, Mass. (WGGB) — Some scary moments for Nadim’s restaurant in Springfield after a bomb threat earlier tonight.
The owner says someone called the restaurant around 6:30 saying, “I hope Nadim’s will blow up.”
The owner then called the police department out of precaution.
Officers along with the Springfield Fire Department and Arson and Bomb Squad responded.
Nadim Kashouh, the owner, told ABC40 the following, “Especially with what happened in Boston on Monday with the marathon this is something we can’t take lightly at all. So they came through and did the walk through and it turned out to be nothing.”
The restaurant does have Caller ID.
The owner says even though the number was a private one, police believe they will be able to track it through the restaurant’s phone provider.
Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill was formerly known as Cafe Lebanon. It’s located at 1390 Main Street.
