Adam Ondrick owns Ondrick Natural Earth in Chicopee and hosted a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.
He was one of the first to donate… letting those out east know that we are one.
“It’s really crucial,” said Ondrick. “We need to support the people who are near to us, and that we can actually reach out and touch. I think that the outpouring from around the country is great but we need to do our part locally and it starts with us.”
The American Red Cross says they have seen an uptick in donations since the bombings on Monday.
They say they are thankful for all the volunteers, and that there is enough blood on the shelves to meet patient needs.
