ABC News: Boston Bombing Suspect Able to Communicate
BOSTON (WGGB) — The Boston Marathon bombing suspect is awake and responding to police questions in writing.
Police say 19-year-old suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev is able to give written responses to questions tonight.
Law enforcement sources told ABC News that investigators are asking about other cell members and other unexploded bombs
Police now believe that a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the throat may seriously affect Tsarnaev’s ability to speak.
Lawmakers say when charges are filed, he will be charged as a civilian in federal court, allowing prosecutors to pursue the death penalty.
The FBI is also disputing a claim that they had any contact with the suspect after the marathon bombing.
