(WGGB) — You should see a revamped $100 bill this fall.
Wednesday, the Federal Reserve announced that a redesigned $100 will start circulation on October 8, over two years after the new design was introduced.
Production of the new bill, the Federal Reserve notes, was postponed because of an unexpected delay.
The new bill will have some new security features including a blue, 3-dimensional security ribbon, which officials say will be easier for the public to authenticate, but more difficult for counterfeiters to copy.
