BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB) — A Springfield state representative has proposed a special license plate, the proceeds of which would go help those affected by last week’s bombings.
State Representative Angelo Puppolo has submitted legislation that would create the “Boston Strong” license plate.
The money remaining, after direct costs of the issuance and production of the plates are taken out, will be directed to One Fund Boston.
In addition to being a way for motorists to financially contribute to those impacted by the attacks, Puppolo notes that the “Boston Strong license plates on vehicles throughout Massachusetts and wherever their owners travel would be one more way to honor the victims and their families and let them know they will not be forgotten.”
As part of the legislation, Puppolo has included that one free “Boston Strong” plate may be issued to the parent, child, sibling, or spouse of a family member that was severely injured or killed in the bombings.
