Longmeadow Police Speak with Man Sought from Big Y Parking Lot

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB) — Police have spoken to a man, whom they wanted to speak with, after being seen in the Big Y parking lot Wednesday.

Longmeadow Police Lt. Gary Fontaine says the man, who was described by witnesses as “disheveled and creepy,” does drive a white Chrysler Town and Country with Texas plates and has been identified.

Fontaine adds that police do not believe that the man is related to an incident Wednesday on Frank Smith Road, where a teenage girl claims that while walking along the road, a man driving a white van called out for her to get into his vehicle.

The girl was only able to tell officers that the man was driving a white or cream-colored large van, perhaps a Dodge Sprinter or Ford Transit.

Regarding the incident near Glenbrook Middle School, Fontaine says that a white van was seen near the park, but no driver or occupants were seen inside.

That incident on Frank Smith Road remains under investigation. If anyone with information on that case, you are asked to call Longmeadow Police at (413) 567-3311.
