Motorcyclist Taken to Baystate with Serious Injuries after Crashing into Pole

PALMER, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are looking into details surrounding a motorcycle accident in Palmer late this afternoon that has sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency personnel were notified of the crash at around 4:30 today.

Our crew went to the scene and spoke with the Palmer Police Department who reported that the motorcyclist went right into a telephone pole which is located at 2159 Baptist Hill Road.

Police on scene also told us they are looking into this as a possible DUI incident and that he’s in serious condition.

The man was transported to Baystate Medical Center.

A neighbor we spoke to says he knows the man who’s in his 30’s, but he would not identify him for us and neither would police.

ABC40 will provide an update to this story as soon as more details become available.

This is the second accident in Palmer involving a motorcycle in less than 24 hours.  Just yesterday, a Palmer man was taken to the hospital after crashing his motorcycle on Old Warren Road at around 6:15 p.m.
