BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB) — The Boston Marathon Bombing suspects were planning a Fourth of July attack in Boston.
That’s according to CNN which is reporting that Tsarnaev and his younger brother, Dzhokhar, initially planned to carry out a suicide-bomb attack on July 4. This information was given to them by a U.S. law enforcement official regularly briefed on the Boston bombing investigation.
ABC News is also saying that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has said that he and his brother, Tamerlan, completed making the bombs earlier than they anticipated which is why they decided to attack the Boston Marathon.
The decision was made on the Friday before the race. Investigators also learned this detail from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev according to ABC News sources.
