Firefighters Bring Huge Structure Fire in Westfield Under Control

Westfield Fire B

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A huge structure fire in Westfield was extinguished in about an hour Thursday night.

The flames broke out in some trailers behind a warehouse in the area of 67 Apremont Way just before 9:40 p.m.

When an ABC40 crew arrived on scene they found embers flying everywhere and could see firefighters trying to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings by spraying the surrounding area with water.

The Holyoke and West Springfield fire departments provided mutual aid.

Officials told ABC40 that there were no reported injuries.

After the fire was out, firefighters kept watch of the area because there is a lot of lumber and a number of other structures near the site of the fire.
