Concert Announced to Benefit One Fund Boston


BOSTON, Mass (WGGB/AP) — A diverse group of acts including Aerosmith, James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett are scheduled to perform at a concert to benefit the families of those killed and survivors of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The concert, titled “Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration”, will be held on Thursday, May 30 at the TD Garden in Boston. Net proceeds from the performance will go to The One Fund Boston.

Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block says like other native Bostonians he and his bandmates are “honored to step up and do our part to help the victims and their families.”

The lineup is scheduled to include:

  • Aerosmith
  • Jason Aldean
  • Boston
  • Jimmy Buffett
  • Dane Cook
  • Extreme
  • J Geils Band
  • Godsmack
  • Carole King
  • New Kids on the Block
  • James Taylor
  • Steven Wright

Organizers note that other “special guests” are also planned.

Tickets, which range in price from $35 to $285, go on sale Monday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster online, by phone at (800) 745-3000 or the TD Garden Box Office.
