EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) — Northampton has become known, really around the world, for its unique restaurants, but Easthampton isn’t far behind.

Some of the best mom and pop restaurants are right here in Easthampton.

One of the favorites is family owned business with a unique name.

“My wife and I have a three and a half year old daughter and her name is Coco and we couldn’t think of anything better to have over the front door,” says Roger Taylor, owner of Coco Restaurant.

You can find every flavor around town, and at Riff’s Joint, all of it on one menu.

“Mexican, Thai, American, we do a lot of nice funky specials,” says Jeff Cahill at Riff’s.

Many of the local restaurants value a healthy, all natural meal.

“Definitely more eclectic food. We find it better than the chain restaurants for serving ourselves and our daughter. It’s much more wholesome and the atmosphere is just so nice and so calming,” adds Darlene Twarosch.

One of the newest additions to Easthampton is Christine’s Bean Shop, where a customer can come in, say how they feel and a smoothie will be customized just to them.

“Good for your eyes is spinach, asparagus, tomato, carrot kale. Good for your heart celery, kale, orange, so there are a lot of different things,” notes Meredith Sokol of Christine’s Bean Sprout.

Also, worth making a stop to probably the most well know in the area, the old fashioned ice cream and candy store, Mt. Tom’s Ice Cream.

For whatever your cup of tea, ice cream topping, or sandwich may be, you are sure to find it here in Easthampton.
