Agawam Event Raises Money for Boston Victims

TOWNS-AGAWAMAGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) — Today in Agawam — it was skaters and bikers who turned out for a good cause.

They took part in a benefit for the victims of the marathon bombings and the One Fund Boston.

As the event’s organizer tells us — it was the best way she could help out those affected.

“I googled where the donations could go, and Boston General Hospital was the only one that was really working one on one with them when it first happened,” explained the event organizer, Marianne Peters. “So I picked Boston General Hospital and 100% off the proceeds that I pull in today are going right to them.”

Several groups donated supplies, money and even skate boards to help the event.

The event brought out more than 200 riders and raised more than $1,100.
