MANCHESTER, NH. (wggb) — A much needed goal from Nick Drazenovic in the first overtime period Saturday night gave the Springfield Falcons a dramatic comeback win to secure game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals over the Manchester Monarchs with a score of 4-3.
The Falcons were at a two-goal deficit in the second period until they won in sudden death for the third time in as many attempts giving them a shot at the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since 1997.
The Falcons will face either the Hershey Bears or Syracuse Crunch in the next round. Game 1 of that series will be held in Springfield at the MassMutual Center on either Friday May 10th or Saturday, May 11th at 7pm depending on the results of the Providence Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series between the Bears and the Crunch.
