Graduation Party Ends With Two in Hospital


stabbingSPRINGFIELD (WGGB) – Two men are in the hospital this morning after a graduation party in Springfield got out of hand.

Officers were responding to a minor car accident on Wilbraham Road, near Western New England University, when they were flagged down by two men who appeared to have been injured; one had been slashed in the hand, while the other had been stabbed twice in the stomach. He remains in the hospital in serious, but stable, condition.

The men told police they had been at a party on Maybrook Street when the incident occurred. Police went to the house, where they found a third victim who had been struck in the head with a brick. He was also transported to the hospital where he is in stable condition.

According to police, the homeowner was throwing a graduation party for his son, when some uninvited guests arrived, and a fight broke out.

All three victims are expected to survive.
