Couch Fire Damages Oakwood Terrace Home


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A mid-morning fire has damaged a Springfield home.

Dennis Leger, aide to Springfield’s fire commissioner, says that just after 9:00 a.m. Monday, firefighter were called out to 3 Oakwood Terrace.

Leger adds that investigators believe that the fire started on a first floor couch, but the exact cause remains under investigation.

Nobody was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Leger notes that the fire caused between between $30,000 and $40,000 in damage.
