Antique Show Vendors Breathe New Life into Old Items
BRIMFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Dozens of vendors are taking part in the Brimfield Antique Show, and many are not just selling older items as is. Some have taken old pieces and found new uses to make eclectic merchandise.
Among those at the antique show this weekend is Cari Cucksey from HGTV’s “Cash and Cari.”
“The name of my company is ‘Repurpose’ so that is really what we do: repurpose anything and everything.”
Take old license plates for example. Instead of the trash or scrap yard, Cucksey turns them into purses.
Even two separate old pieces can be combined to make one new repurposed piece.
“This [bench] is a piece that was really tired, needed a makeover and this is a vintage afghan I picked up for $5. Doesn’t it make such a cute little upholstery? It’s a great piece,” Cucksey explains.
Cucksey notes that what you envision as a design is only limited by your imagination. “The possibilities are practically endless,” she says.
