Lottery Fever Reaches Western Mass.

gambling-lotteryHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) – The big drawing for the $600 million Powerball jackpot is tomorrow and that has brought a lot of people out buying tickets.

Local businesses we talked to say they’ve seen a big increase in lottery sales.

At the Holyoke Liquor Mart they say it’s a good way to get customers in the store.

“If people are coming in and buying whatever they need to buy and then buying lottery tickets as well, then that’ll help us.  Providing lottery for people who are looking to do some shopping is definitely good for our business,” explains manager, Matthew Pestel.

If you can’t wait for tomorrow’s drawing the $190 million Mega Millions jackpot drawing is tonight.

We’ll have those numbers for you as soon as they come in.
