Major Drug Bust in Holyoke nets Heroin and Ammo

vargas, ricardoHOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Holyoke Police made an arrest Friday in a major drug bust that also uncovered a large cache of ammunition and an illegal handgun.

Around 7 pm Friday, Holyoke police searched an apartment at 173 Elm Street after receiving a tip. They arrested 24 year old Ricardo Vargas and say they seized a large quantity of heroin, a stolen pistol, and numerous rounds of ammunition including hollow point bullets.

The amount of heroin found equaled 522 packets.

Vargas faces 10 separate charges including possession of narcotics, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a loaded firearm, and receiving stolen property.

He’ll be arraigned in Court Monday morning.

    I think its sooo funny that as soon as some news article is written about drugs/crime and a minority the white people hide behind their keyboards and talk sh*t.     God bless the Holyoke Police. 173 Elm St has been a sespool for 10 yrs, and every yr before winter they do a major drug sweep. 40 yrs ago I delivered newspapers to little old ladies in that building. Landlords have to work with the PD to follow up on NO public assistance for drug dealing crooks.
