“Yes For Springfield” Campaign Kicks Off
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — MGM Springfield kicked off its “Yes For Springfield” campaign today.
MGM officials, Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno and other casino endorsers rallied today to encourage a “yes” vote in the July 16 casino vote referendum.
A spokeswoman for MGM says the campaign is now in full force.
“50 days is not a lot of time, so we’ll hit the ground running. I think we have events in homes and around the city just about every day leading up to that. So the citizens of Springfield can expect us to be knocking on their doors, putting out leaflets on the street. They’ll see more of our President Bill Hornbuckle on the air. Every form of campaigning you can think of, that’s us for the next 50 days,” explains Kelley Tucky who’s with MGM Resorts International.
If a majority of Springfield voters say “yes” to MGM’s plan for a casino the proposal will go before the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for approval.
