Shetland Pony Makes Memorable Visit to R.I. Liquor Store
WARREN, R.I. (ABC) — A Rhode Island liquor store owner was left with quite a mess on his hands when a pony and a man walked into his store on monday.
The owner of Patriot’s Liquors in Warren called police after a 51-year-old man walked into his store with a Shetland pony.
It wasn’t the pony that got the owner upset. It was what the pony did when inside the store.
The pony, apparently not potty trained, defecated in the store and the pony’s owner did not want to clean it up.
“Just about to walk out, the horse decided to do his thing on the rug, and at that point, he did not want to clean it, so we had a lady ask him if she could, that she could hold the horse for him, and he didn’t want any part of it,” says Rick Lima, the store’s assistant manager.
Police arrived at the store and the was ordered to clean up the pony’s mess.
Once the mess was cleaned, the owner decided against pressing charges.
