SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Severe Thunderstorm is rolling through Western Mass. right now with heavy rain, wind, thunder and lightning.
We’ve received a number of reports of trees and wires down across the area.
In Wilbraham police say that one tree is leaning down on some wires on Mountain Road and in Springfield a resident reports a tree down with lightning lighting up the sky on Montclair Street.
One viewer from Easthampton just reported that the storm is continuing at this hour with lots of lightning, wind and light rain.
Several small scattered power outages are being reported by both National Grid and WMECo. A few customers in Southampton, Conway, Blandford, Plainfield, Williamsburg, Belchertown and Northampton have no power at this time. In Ware nearly 180 residents are without electricity right now, New Salem 178 and in Tolland more than a quarter of the town has lost power.
