Wanted: Domenic Fowler

fowler, domenicSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — It was about six weeks ago, on the night of April 16th, when Springfield Police observed 36-year-old Domenic Fowler driving through a light at the corner of Worthington and Federal streets.

“They ran his plate through mobile data and the car did not match the plate number,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney. “It was a Pontiac and this came back to a Mercury Mountaineer.”

So the officers pulled Fowler over at a parking lot a bit further up Worthington Street. But when they got out of their cruiser, Fowler slammed the gas pedal.

“He jumped the curb, causing all the tires to go flat,” says Delaney. “The officers quickly got in their car and it was a low-speed pursuit.”

Police tailed the Pontiac — which was traveling at about 15 miles per hour — for several minutes until the car just couldn’t go any further.

“There was no rubber left on the tires and he ended up here on Ingersoll Grove,” says Delaney.

But even when he was forced to stop driving, police say Fowler was still hesitant to give up.

“He wouldn’t get out of the car, he fought with police, he had crack cocaine,” says Delaney.

Fowler was locked up on several charges but he’s since defaulted. Now police are hoping your tips can get him back in custody.

If you see Domenic Fowler, call 9-1-1, or you can send police an anonymous tip.  Just text it to CRIMES or 2-7-4-6-3-7 and in the message type SOLVE and your tip.
