SHELBURNE FALLS, Mass. (WGGB) — Don’t blink, or you might miss him. On Wednesday, Robert Downey Jr. was being towed away on the set of his new movie “The Judge” now filming in Shelburne Falls.
Clearly, he’s causing quite a stir and having a little fun with some fans Monday afternoon.
Today, folks lined the sidewalks trying to get a peek at the A-Lister, but the headliner isn’t stealing anyone’s thunder.
“I was here Monday, where I was a stand-in for Robert Downey Jr., which is something that, as a background actor, you really shoot for,” says David Schuback.
Not only do local actors enjoy the commotion, but the community is excited they’re breathing the same air as the actor.
“We are, but we don’t know if he knows he’s breathing the same air as us. So, it’s a little humbling,” Stefan Topolski added.
A little bit of star power doesn’t hurt places like Mocha Maya’s, which is actually benefiting from all the Hollywood hustle and bustle.
“It’s crazy, it’s different, and it’s never been like this. It was a tough winter, and now it’s starting to come back. It’s good, it’s good,” said barista Scott Heon.
While filming may temporarily cause some small headaches to park or walk around, natives concur it’s nice for Hollywood to come to them instead of having to travel to Hollywood.
“The Judge” is set to hit theaters next year.
