Power Restored to Back Bay, Turnpike Reopened
BOSTON (AP) — The Massachusetts Turnpike has been reopened and power has mostly been restored in Boston’s Back Bay.
About 12,000 utility customers were without power early Sunday morning due to a problem with a cable at a substation.
State Police shut the darkened Prudential Tunnel on Sunday morning. Police also cited poor ventilation in the tunnel.
NStar says it will shut power to customers for a few hours after midnight as workers fix the problem at the substation.
