Hard Rock Continues Dialogue with the West Springfield Community
Hard Rock says it was a chance for residents to learn about different ways a casino would impact their community.
A representative from the company says residents are encouraged to ask questions about the proposal.
“I think one of the most important things is the residents know we are here to be in a partnership with them. As they learn more about the project, as they learn more about the amazing jobs that will be created, the tax revenue that will be generated for the city. As they think about things when they go home, and maybe chat at the coffee table, that they now can come back and ask additional questions of myself or the different members of our design team,” explains Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International.
West Springfield Mayor Gregory Neffinger is in the process of negotiating a host agreement with Hard Rock Resorts.
He has asked the town council to provide recommendations for that negotiation by June 21.
