Tracking More Rain for Tomorrow, Potential Flooding
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – It will be a windy, but comfortable, afternoon with temperatures in the low to mid-70’s.
We’ll continue to see a mix of sun and clouds and there could be a spot shower or a few sprinkles.
Overall, this afternoon will be just fine for any outdoor plans. In fact, as we head into the evening, the winds will start to diminish and the puffy cumulus clouds will vanish.
Winds will slacken off completely tonight under clear skies. It will be a great night for sleeping with a cool, crisp air mass.
A cluster of showers and storms over the upper Midwest this morning will develop into a storm system that will quickly move our way for tomorrow.
We can expect a little morning sunshine with clouds increasing quickly. Rain will move in by midday and become heavy in the afternoon or evening.
This system will track south of New England as it morphs into a late season Nor’easter.
We are not expecting any severe weather, but we can expect down right nasty conditions tomorrow afternoon into Friday morning with heavy rain and wind.
A solid 1 to 3 inches or more of rain is not out of the question, leading to more flooding concerns.
Small river and stream flooding, along with street flooding, is likely.
The rain will wind down early Friday, but lots of clouds, wind and a few showers will linger into Friday as this (almost winter-like) storm slowly moves away.
The good news is that the weekend is still looking great!
We will see a huge turn around by Saturday with blue skies, warm temperatures and much lighter winds.
Father’s Day is looking good too. On Sunday, there will be a few clouds mixing in with the chance of a spot afternoon shower, but overall Dad’s day will be great with highs right around 80!
Have a great day!
