Indie Movie Shoots in Palmer, Main St. Blocked Off

PALMER MOVIEPALMER (WGGB) — A taste of the big screen comes to Western Mass. once again, as a New York City film company begins shooting their independent short film in Palmer Sunday night.

The film has not been titled yet, but it attracted several onlookers on Main St. as they began filming shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.

The crew plans to shoot into Monday morning, closing Main St. from Thorndike St. to Central St. until 5:30 a.m.

One of the featured characters named “Abby” is portrayed by Palmer native Courtney Hall. The scene being shot Sunday night involves her male counterpart driving to meet her and crashing his truck. The two characters then have a memorable first encounter.

Motorists looking to get to Bridge Street in Palmer or State Avenue in Monson will be allowed to proceed to those streets using the Thorndike Street side of Main Street.

Other motorists are being urged to find alternate routes.
